We are currently hiring for the position of Senior Associate (Tax). In this position, you will:
- Exercise your understanding of tax laws and regulations through the preparation of intermediate individual and entity tax returns, including partnerships, corporations, estates and trusts, and not-for-profit organizations
- Provide review of basic and intermediate tax returns as part of the firm’s quality control process
- Assist with tax planning engagements, tax research projects, and other tax consulting projects as needed, utilizing our extensive and top-rated online tax research resources
- Understand how CPA firms resolve tax controversies with the IRS and state taxing authorities by assisting experienced Managers with the resolution of a tax issue
- Join managers in meetings with clients as needed; learning more about clients’ needs; assist in strengthening client relationships and identifying possible opportunities for additional services
- Help foster an environment of teamwork and collaboration with staff and with managers
- Be part of a collaborative client relationship team that values proactive, creative thinking and a commitment to providing extraordinary client service
- Continue to strengthen technical skills and apply those skills to client engagements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (Master’s degree preferred)
- Plans to pursue CPA or EA licensing are preferred
- 2+ years of experience in a tax environment (public accounting preferred)
- Excellent time management and workflow management skills
- Proactivity; strong analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills
- Intellectual curiosity and a desire to improve and grow
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; a desire to be a team player
- Professional demeanor and attitude toward duties and responsibilities, including independence, professional ethics, communication with managers, and the exercise of professional judgment
