We are currently hiring for the position of Manager (Tax). In this position, you will:
- Provide technical review of individual, entity, and not-for-profit tax returns of varying complexity as part of the firm’s quality control process
- Identify and research complex tax issues for tax planning and consulting projects; recommend solutions for clients following firm procedures
- Assist Senior Managers with the resolution of tax controversies with the IRS and state taxing authorities
- Help manage client relationships, developing a deeper understanding of their needs and identifying possible opportunities for additional services
- Handle billing responsibilities for clients and/or projects for which you serve in a Manager capacity
- Help train and mentor staff and senior associates, providing effective feedback and nurturing their growth
- Contribute to performance assessments for staff and senior associates to help assess readiness for advancement
- Help with both time management and workflow management for projects with Staff and Senior Associates
- Help foster an environment of teamwork and collaboration
- Be part of a collaborative client relationship team that values proactive, creative thinking and a commitment to providing extraordinary client service
- Develop professionally through community involvement, networking, and professional events/committees
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (Master’s degree preferred)
- CPA certification or similar (J.D., MBA, EA, etc.)
- 5+ years of experience in public accounting
- Proven leadership skills in managing client service teams
- Excellent time management and workflow management skills
- Proactivity; strong analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills
- Intellectual curiosity and a desire to improve and grow
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; a desire to foster collaboration and a team-oriented attitude
- Understanding of the importance of professional independence, professional ethics, and professional judgment, and a desire to uphold the firm’s Core Values
