Senior Manager – Tax

We are currently hiring for the position of Senior Manager (Tax). In this position, you will:

  • Provide technical review of individual, entity, and not-for-profit tax returns of varying complexity as part of the firm’s quality control process; hold signer-level authority for tax engagements as requested by partners
  • Oversee projects involving complex tax issues for tax planning and consulting projects; recommend solutions for clients following firm procedures; communicate solutions to clients
  • Provide a bridge between managers and partners by focusing on high-level client advisory services, business development, and more complex projects, understanding the importance of continuous communication
  • Oversee and manage the resolution of tax controversies with the IRS and state taxing authorities
  • Own and nurture client relationships, developing a deep understanding of their needs and identifying possible opportunities for additional services; work with managers to implement identified services
  • Handle billing responsibilities for clients and/or projects for which you serve in a supervisory capacity
  • Train and mentor managers and senior associates, providing effective and timely feedback and nurturing their growth
  • Conduct performance assessments as requested by partners for managers, staff, and senior associates to help assess readiness for advancement
  • Oversee time management and workflow management for projects with managers and senior associates
  • Help foster an environment of teamwork and collaboration; provide positive reinforcement for the Firm’s culture
  • Be part of a collaborative client relationship team that values proactive, creative thinking and a commitment to providing extraordinary client service
  • Be active professionally through community involvement, networking, and professional events/committees

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (Master’s degree preferred)
  • CPA certification or similar (J.D., MBA, EA, etc.)
  • 7+ years of experience in public accounting
  • Proven leadership skills in managing client service teams
  • Excellent time management and workflow management skills
  • Proactivity; strong analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills
  • Intellectual curiosity and a desire to improve and grow
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; a desire to foster collaboration and a team-oriented attitude
  • Understanding of the importance of professional independence, professional ethics, and professional judgment, with a desire to uphold the Firm’s Core Values and culture
