The Society of Financial Service Professionals (SFSP) welcomed Chip Marston and Jimmy Dickey as speakers for their first luncheon of the society's 2009 - 2010 fiscal year. Mr. Marston took the lead and offered a thoughtful analysis of the economy's effect on the incidence of divorce, along with various strategies to guide clients who are divorcing in this tough economy. In addition, Mr. Marston and Mr. Dickey reinforced the concept of creating a coordinated team of professionals with which to consult, when handling sophisticated financial matters, such as the valuing and division of assets, which often includes complicated, and sometimes unintended, tax consequences, as a result.
The luncheon qualified for one hour of CPE credit for CPA's. Susan Lattimore, CFP®, senior manager at The Marston Group, PLC and Treasurer on the Board of Directors for the SFSP, was the coordinator for the event.
