The Marston Group Sponsors Women’s Foundation for a Greater Memphis Annual Tribute Luncheon and Symposium
The Marston Group recently sponsored the Women’s Foundation for a Greater Memphis Annual Tribute Luncheon and Symposium, held on Thursday, April 24, 2014 at the Memphis Cook Convention Center. All proceeds from this event benefit the annual grant-making of the Foundation.
TMG greatly enjoyed this opportunity to interact with more than 1,600 civic leaders, businesses, faith organizations, and local foundations in celebration of the impact women leaders have on the Memphis community. Community involvement and support is something very important to all TMG employees. This annual luncheon is one of three events that comprise the Annual Tribute Luncheon and Symposium during the month of April each year.
The 2014 luncheon Keynote speaker was actress, dancer and women’s rights activist Jasmine Guy who spoke on the urgency the community is facing to stop child sex trafficking. This is an issue that the Foundation is actively working with groups statewide to push for stronger anti-trafficking laws.
This year’s luncheon honored five women who have made an impact in our community including community activist Nancy Bogatin, playwright and teacher Erma Clanton, educator and civil rights activist Frances Dancy Hooks, philanthropist and volunteer Mary Shainberg, and educator and family advocate Modeane Thompson. Our sincere thanks and congratulations to all!
