The Marston Group is always looking for great interns who are eager to learn! Our internship program allows our interns to work alongside a dynamic team of professionals in our Memphis office. Position Summary
Students in our internship program will be provided with the opportunity to:
- Learn and expand general accounting skills
- Gain exposure to tax by preparing business and individual tax returns
- Assist with tax planning engagements, tax research projects, and other tax consulting projects as needed
- Assist with audit and other assurance engagements
- Gain a better understanding of how a public accounting firm serves a variety of clients and industries
- Develop positive working relationships with the firm's employees and clients.
Requirements
- Working toward Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (Master's preferred)
- Plans to sit for CPA exam (or similar advanced certification)
- Eagerness to learn
- Strong time management and work management skills
- Strong writing skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with coworkers, managers, and clients
- Knowledge of basic software packages, including MS Office (tax software will be taught)
- Professional demeanor toward duties and responsibilities, including independence, professional ethics, communication with managers, and the exercise of professional judgment
- Strong skills in proactive problem solving
