The Marston Group Named Among Memphis Business Journal’s Best Places to Work

For more than 40 years, The Marston Group has been proud to call Memphis home. Since opening our doors in 1985, we’ve provided accounting, tax, and consulting solutions for businesses and individuals across the Mid-South. From the beginning, our mission has gone far beyond business.

At The Marston Group, we believe success goes beyond the numbers – it’s about people. Creating an environment where our team members can thrive allows our clients to succeed and our community to grow stronger. That’s why being named to the Memphis Business Journal’s Best Places to Work list (for more than 10 years!) is so meaningful. This recognition reflects not only what we do, but how we do it: with integrity, collaboration, and a shared commitment to service.

A culture built on service and connection
Community has always been central to who we are. The Marston Group proudly supports organizations that strengthen the Mid-South across education, healthcare, the arts, and social services. In recent years, that’s included partnerships with Make-A-Wish Mid-South, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Boys & Girls Club of Greater Memphis, ArtsMemphis, Thistle & Bee, and many others.

Through sponsorships like Carnival Memphis’ Krewes for Kids and the Dixon Gallery & Gardens’ Garden to Table event, we help provide critical funding and awareness for causes that enrich our region. But our involvement goes beyond sponsorships, because our people show up. Every team member receives paid volunteer days, and we often serve together as a firm.

On Giving Tuesday, for example, our staff turned “Cyber Monday” into a day of service, sorting more than 3,700 pounds of food at the Mid-South Food Bank. We’ve also rallied together at Shelby Farms Park for West Fight On, where our team hosted a survivor ribbon-making booth and participated in the run to support cancer awareness and research. These shared experiences deepen our bonds as colleagues and as neighbors.

Marston Gives Back: 100% participation, 100% heart
Our Marston Gives Back program captures the heart of our culture. In 2024, every employee participated, directing more than $6,250 in firm-matched donations to 25 local organizations. Those contributions reflected the diverse passions of our team, from animal welfare and education to women’s initiatives and the performing arts. The result is a workplace that values generosity and empowers every person to make a difference.

A legacy of excellence and impact
After four decades in business and more than 10 years on the Best Places to Work list, one thing remains constant: our belief that when businesses lead with service, communities thrive.

We’re grateful to our team for creating an environment rooted in respect, balance, and purpose, and to our clients and community partners who inspire us to keep striving for excellence.

Beyond the numbers, The Marston Group’s story is one of people helping people. That’s what truly makes this a best place to work.
