Tennessee Secretary of State Annual Report Filing Due April 1, 2014

Owners of businesses that are registered with the Tennessee Secretary of State should be familiar with the requirement for filing an Annual Report. This filing requirement is applicable to corporations, S corporations, limited liability companies (LLCs) and limited liability partnerships (LLPs). If the business operates on a calendar year, the Annual Reports are due each year on April 1.

In recent years, the Tennessee Secretary of State has implemented an online renewal process for renewing Annual Reports and for paying the annual fee for that renewal. This online renewal process has proven to be extremely convenient for most business owners because all it requires is a few clicks of the mouse to verify the business address and officers, payment of the fee with a credit card, and it's done!

The reminder notices from the Tennessee Secretary of State should be en route to taxpayers, if not already received. The instructions for renewing and paying online are included on the notice and are easy to follow. While we are available to prepare your Annual Report on paper for you to file with the Secretary of State, we think that you will find the online renewal process to be a simple, convenient, and a more cost-effective way to submit your renewal form.

If you have any questions or need assistance in navigating the online renewal process for the Annual Report filing, please do not hesitate to call us at 901-761-3003. As always, we appreciate the opportunity to serve you.
